I’m just your average 18-year-old double English/Comp. Sci. major who eats too much, sleeps too little, and is known for alienating people with constant whining, oblique references to Internet subculture, and annoyingly curly hair (blame my Dad—I’ll show you pictures).

After I finish my degree, I plan to go onto graduate studies in computational linguistics, with a focus on natural language processing. Basically, I want people and computers to integrate better so everyone can understand each other better. It’s my nerdy, analytical approach to “peace, love, and understanding”, I guess.

In my spare time, I enjoy studying human languages. Right now my strength is in the Romance languages, but I intend to extend my abilities into the areas of Farsi, Mandarin, and Russian very soon. As you can tell, communication is big on my list of interests.

As for non-academic interests: I love cooking, baking, writing, and making music. I’m a fan of art, but it’s mostly for humor: who else thinks making a recreation of Starry Night with pasta shells sounds like fun? (Honestly, probably not very many.)

I am always the big spoon…which is counter-intuitive since I’m 5’2”.

I have a tendency of wearing my heart on my sleeve. My emotional energy is my greatest asset and my greatest weakness. If I’m happy, I want you to be happy, too. If I’m sad, I can suck the life out of any room.

My brain is perpetually in the gutter; take a look at what I watch on TV and in theaters and it’s pretty obvious.

If I ever grow up, I want to be a combination of Frank Zappa, Mel Brooks, and Turanga Leela.

Oh, and one more thing: I have a boyfriend whom I love immensely. Together, we will conquer the world. :)
